SERVICE STATION FLX TO CELEBRATE GRAND OPENING IN HAMMONDSPORT ON APRIL 18
New Bicycle-Inspired Coffee Shop Brings Community, Caffeine, and Charm to Keuka Lake
HAMMONDSPORT, NEW YORK — A new kind of coffee shop is rolling into town. Service Station FLX, a bicycle-themed coffee haven located at 43 Main Street in the heart of Hammondsport, will officially open its doors to the public on Friday, April 18, 2025.
Housed in a thoughtfully renovated former automotive and gas service station, the aptly named Service Station FLX is more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee — it’s a celebration of cycling culture, local flavors, and community connection. With its opening, owners Kim and Nolan Smith aim to create a welcoming pit stop for Finger Lakes locals and tourists alike, whether you’re arriving by bike, on foot, or four wheels.
“We created Service Station FLX as a place for people to pause, whether they’re biking the backroads, spending the day on the lake, or just looking for a great cup of coffee,” said Kim Smith who, in addition to shop owner, serves as the team’s chief coffee roaster.
“Our professional lives brought us to the Finger Lakes region, and Keuka Lake has quickly become our favorite place to explore in the world, especially on two wheels,” said Nolan Smith. “We are thrilled that Service Station FLX will get other people excited about the area as well.”
The Grand Opening Ceremony will kick off around 10 a.m. on April 18 with a celebratory ribbon cutting. (Prior to the ceremony, Service Station FLX will be open starting at 7 a.m., pause service briefly for the ceremony, and then resume service of its specialty coffee and espresso drinks, fresh baked goods, and local provisions.) Throughout the day, guests can enjoy a laid-back atmosphere inspired by the Finger Lakes outdoor lifestyle with bike-friendly amenities. In the coming weeks and months, the shop will also begin collaborating with other favorite local spots, and eventually start hosting group bike rides.
